Dr. Thakur Dhakal is an interdisciplinary sustainability scientist and Assistant Professor at Yeungnam University, South Korea, with strong expertise in system management engineering, quantitative modeling, socio-ecological systems analysis, and policy-oriented research. He specializes in sustainability science, macroeconomics, system dynamics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, hydropower systems, and infrastructure development.
He holds a Ph.D. in System Management Engineering from Kangwon National University, South Korea, along with advanced academic qualifications in Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Civil Engineering. He has extensive academic and professional experience in South Korea and Nepal, including teaching, research, engineering management, and international collaboration.
At NIIERD, he serves as South Korea Expert, supporting research cooperation, policy dialogue, hydropower and infrastructure advisory, investment facilitation, and strategic partnerships between Nepal and South Korea.
