Mr. Basanta Adhikari is a highly experienced Civil and Hydropower Engineer and registered professional with the Nepal Engineering Council (Reg. No. 2603). He holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering (Hydropower & Irrigation specialization) from Hohai University and possesses extensive expertise in infrastructure development and engineering consultancy.
He has over two decades of professional experience in civil engineering design, hydropower feasibility studies, project planning, cost estimation, quantity surveying, technical auditing, and infrastructure assessment. His core specialization lies in hydropower project development, including desk studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility analysis, and structural design of engineering projects.
He also has significant experience in property valuation and financial asset assessment, having worked extensively with leading commercial banks and financial institutions in Nepal as an authorized property valuator. His valuation expertise includes real estate assessment, infrastructure valuation, technical auditing, and financial reporting for banking and investment purposes.
In addition, he has contributed to renewable energy research, sustainable infrastructure development, and decentralized rural energy planning, along with participation in various national and international workshops and technical studies.
At NIIERD, he serves as a National Expert (Civil Engineering, Hydropower Development & Investment Project Evaluation), contributing to infrastructure development analysis, hydropower and energy sector studies, project evaluation, and investment-oriented engineering assessments.
